Tower Top Restaurant
Open since 1993, our Tower Top Restaurant lies high amongst the ornate minarets, temple towers, and church spires of ancient Stone Town, undoubtedly one of the most extraordinary eating venues in the world. Located on the roof of 236 Hurumzi, guests feel as if they're on top of the world as they sip exotic cocktails, watching the sun disappear into the Indian Ocean. The Muslim call to prayer accents the setting of Arab-style pillows and small tables and the Hindu Temple chimes remind our guests that they are far away from the stress they left at home.
Our fixed price dinner menu consists of home-made bitings and appetizers, a delicious soup, a choice of an Indian Ocean seafood salad or fatoush salad, your choice of fish, beef, chicken, or vegetarian entree, or from our supplemental seafood menu, Lobster Thermador, Grilled Jumbo Prawns or Deviled Crab, offered at an additional tariff.
This is all accompanied by market fresh vegetables, coconut rice or parsley boiled potatoes. To finish, we offer a tropical fruit salad or our Pastry Chef's home baked selection of the day, perfect with tea or coffee and, perhaps, your favourite after dinner liqueur or cognac. As you leave the restaurant, be sure to gaze up at the stars. We think they're brighter here.

As you would experience in a Zanzibari's home, there is Swahili-style seating on cushions and carpets or Western-style seating at tables and chairs. Please specify your seating preference when making your dinner reservation.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, we feature live entertainment with traditional dancers and music.
While the Tower Top is well known for its' unique dinner atmosphere, we also offer a full breakfast for our in-house guests, featuring the fresh fruit and juices of the season, home made baked goods, and eggs, prepared to your taste.
Open to all, with recently increased Western style seating capacity, we also serve a lunch menu with a full a la carte selection of appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Our Seafood Pizza is rumoured to be the best in Stone Town.
